TNB Protective Gear.

Don't let your therapist read your script.

Mine did.

He read the first 40 pages.

I think it shocked him a little.

He said, "I didn't expect it to be so violent".

It wasn't my idea for him to read it... he wanted to.?

But, he also said, he was excited to read more... so...

He'll probably write a book about me some day...

I better get a 'royalty'.

Page 60.

I planned on this script being only 80 pages long (approximately), so, 60 pages would be well into the script. But, I'm probably a little past half way into the story that I'm trying to tell....

So, this darn thing is probably closer to 110 pages, I'll bet, when it's done.

They say every page of a script is equal to one minute "on screen", so I had hoped for a short script because I tend to "edit long", because I like the idea of building simple atmosphere. But, I have a bit too much to say possibly? I do think a lot of the scenes I have written will 'edit' into very 'quick cut' scenes....

So, I'm probably fine.

Rod always says, "Just write it, you can edit it later".

Okay.

I suck at blogging.

I think I will do more 'blogging' closer to production.

AND I'm going to have some of the people involved contribute to this blog... so, that will help.

I'm looking for a small drawing table to put in my place so I can sketch more. I hope to sketch and 'storyboard' a lot for this film, and to post a bunch of that on this blog.

I don't think anybody is even reading this blog at this point, but I hope that will increase as we all get more busy with the film.

Time will tell.

Hard.

Charlie Chaplin once said, "The hardest thing about filmmaking is thinking... just thinking".

Man, do I agree. It's hard to clear your mind and just think about the world that you are creating. Especially the world that I'm creating for THE NEW BLACK. It's a weird one.

The real world has certain rules... you know, the laws of physics and such... but TNB has a whole other set of rules... trust me. And they make things a little difficult to write.

But, I'm not complaining... it's been a blast.

Now, back to thinking...

The year of THE NEW BLACK.

...or, at least, the year of (the production of) THE NEW BLACK.

The feedback has been amazing for the first 50 pages of the screenplay... thank God.

So, I'm finalizing the outline for the rest of the script. I have too many ideas that are competing for a 'spot in the script'.

We'll see who wins?!

I hope 2008 is a great year for everyone!
